What is the Cat Sanctuary?

The Pets Workshop started out in 2021 as a grooming space that caters to dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, all under one roof. This set-up stems from our desire to use our grooming skills to serve the pet community and pawrents, regardless of the pets they may keep. Truth is, we love animals and we hope to deliver our philosophy of pet care to all pets.

We still believe in our mission, but our love for animals spurs us to set up the Cat Sanctuary at Telepark. From our experience to-date, we believe we could further enhance the grooming experience for cats by creating a dedicated and separate working space for cats without dogs around.

Cat Sanctuary Look & Feel

The Cat Sanctuary @ Telepark is our effort to create a safe and conducive environment for working with cats. As the name suggests, this premises is meant to provide a comfort zone, a safe nest for our feline friends during their grooming process. Dogs are not allowed into this space, and the area is walled by see-through glass so that pawrents could always observe their furkids during grooming. For transparency, we do work with dogs over at Telepark, but that is over at the next-door unit, separated by a convenience store in between.

The Cat Sanctuary @ Telepark is led by our experienced cat stylist, JingJing, who oversees a team of stylists and assistants to make sure your feline friends are well taken care of.

Benefits of a dedicated cat grooming space

Why would you, as a cat owner, bring your cat to the Cat Sanctuary for grooming? Allow us to share our observations:

  • Reduced Stress for Cats: Cats are typically more sensitive to new environments and can become anxious or agitated around unfamiliar animals, particularly dogs. Grooming them separately allows for a calmer environment, which can make the experience less stressful for them.
  • Safety: Cats and dogs have different behaviors and temperaments. Separating them minimizes the risk of any accidental interactions or injuries that could happen if a curious dog or a startled cat becomes reactive.
  • Allergy Management: Some cats have sensitivities to dog dander, and vice versa. By keeping them apart, it reduces the risk of allergic reactions or discomfort.
  • Improved Grooming Results: Cats are often more cooperative in quieter, less-stimulating environments. By providing a more serene setting, groomers can perform more detailed work without distractions, leading to better grooming outcomes.
  • Health Benefits: Cats, especially those who are indoor-only, may be more susceptible to stress-induced health issues. Limiting exposure to dogs or other animals can reduce the likelihood of stress-related illnesses like respiratory infections or digestive problems.
